What Is ACCA and Why Eligibility Matters
ACCA stands for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a UK-based global body that awards one of the most recognised accounting qualifications in the world. It's built around three stages: Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills and Strategic Professional, along with an ethics module and a practical experience requirement.
Because ACCA is designed to work for people at very different stages of their education, ACCA course eligibility isn't one-size-fits-all. A student straight out of school, a commerce graduate, and a working CA or CS candidate can all register, but they don't all start at the same exam paper. Getting your entry point wrong usually means either repeating papers you didn't need to, or discovering later that you were missing a requirement all along. That's exactly why understanding ACCA entry requirements before you register matters more than most people expect.
