What Is CMA USA?
CMA USA stands for Certified Management Accountant and is awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), an American body. It is accepted world-wide and it is more toward management accounting and financial management, budgeting, performance analysis, strategic decision-making, rather than the audit-and-tax domain that most Indian commerce students are used to.
The exam consists of two parts:
- Part 1 is Financial Planning, Performance and Analytics.
- Part 2 is Strategic Financial Management.
"However you take them, it doesn't matter the order. One thing people often get confused about is that CMA USA and CMA India are not the same qualification, different bodies, different syllabus, different recognition. Since the IMA sometimes updates exam windows and content outlines, it’s a good idea to check the latest info on their website before you commit to a study plan.
