Why This Decision Matters More Than Ever
The commerce stream used to funnel almost everyone toward the same three choices: B.Com, CA or an MBA eventually. That's no longer true. Global Capability Centres (GCCs) run by companies like Amazon, JPMorgan, and Goldman Sachs are hiring thousands of finance professionals in Indian cities every year, and many of them explicitly prefer candidates holding international finance certification courses in India over a general degree alone. These employers report under IFRS or US GAAP, operate on global timelines, and increasingly can't fill roles fast enough using degree-only candidates who need years of on-the-job training to become useful. Choosing the right path early doesn't just save you years it can mean the difference between a ₹3 lakh starting salary and a ₹10 lakh one, and between competing for the same generic entry-level roles as thousands of other B.Com graduates versus walking into a specialised pipeline with far less competition.
